About us – Nzbankbets

Funding a bet from a bank account raises questions about the money and the law at once, and Nzbankbets addresses both. It accepts no bets, sells no tips and makes no promise of return, because a bet certain to win is not on offer anywhere.

A register of licensed bookmakers does not exist for New Zealand, as one provider only is lawful. TAB NZ has been the sole provider of racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand since 28 June 2025, under its two brands TAB and Betcha. What backs this is the work of the Department of Internal Affairs plus the text of the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025. Overseas bookmakers hold no licence here, and the Department says a company abroad that offers these bets is breaking the law. The same sources point at the operator, not the punter. No place in a ranking is a licence.

Handling of sources

The provider’s terms, help pages and footers are the source for facts about the provider; statutes and public bodies are the source for legal facts. Because odds and offers change fast, a figure carries the time and place it applied to. If a source says nothing, the text says so in words rather than inventing a figure.

Readers

Adults in New Zealand are the intended readers, since betting with TAB NZ starts at 18. Legal and tax advice are outside the site’s scope. Where betting seems to take over more than planned, the Gambling Helpline and Safer Gambling Aotearoa are the places to turn.
